Wooden High Altar restoration in Dakovo Croatia

Here you can see some photos of a restoration project of an Altar. The high altar was unfortunately repainted with different colors from the original ones. Removing the colors was a great job but see for yourself the result! The combination of authentic gold with acrylic and oil colors is very beautiful – 23 carat authentic gold partly polished with agate (mesticatura and bolus) partly opaque. We have also restored the side altars, the Stations of the Cross, the individual statues of the altar. Obviously the first step was the restoration/integration of the missing carved decorations. The ornamental sculptor has been able to maintain the original character of the sculptures, perfectly taking back the style. Before each restoration, we proceed with the antitarlo treatment where necessary.
