Archangels, Angels and Puttos.

Angels are messengers of God. The theological study of angels is known as angelology. In art, angels are often depicted with wings, ultimately reflecting the descriptions in the Hebrew Bible, such as the chayot in Ezekiel's Merkabah vision or the Seraphim of Isaiah. Archangel is a term meaning an angel of high rank. Michael is the only archangel named in the Bible as recognized by both Jews and Christians. Gabriel, named in the Holy Bible's New Testament book, Luke, is considered to be an archangel, as are Raphael (mentioned in the Apocrypha Book of Tobit) and Uriel (mentioned in the non-canonical Book of Enoch). The archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael are venerated in the Roman Catholic Church with a feast on 29 September. Other traditions have identified a group of Seven Archangels, the names of which vary, depending on the source.
